Short answer
Open the Ads Transparency Scraper, set Ad source to Meta and add a brand name, a Facebook Page ID or a link copied from the Ad Library. Pick active, inactive or both and run it. You get one row per ad with the format, headline, call to action, landing page, creative link, first and last shown dates, daysShown, platforms and isActive. Download it as CSV, Excel or JSON.
A real use case
A DTC brand wants to see what its three closest rivals have tested over the last year. In the Ad Library it would scroll and screenshot for hours. It exports all ads, active and stopped, sorts by daysShown, and the long-running ones are the offers worth studying.
Step by step
- Set Ad source to Meta Ad Library.
- Add targets. A brand name or keyword searches ad text and page names. A numeric Facebook Page ID returns one advertiser's own ads. You can also paste an Ad Library link.
- Choose active, inactive or both, and a country if you want one.
- Set the ad limits and run. Then download CSV, Excel or JSON.

Tips
- A brand name can pull in resellers and affiliates. For one company's own ads, use its Page ID: the
view_all_page_idnumber in an Ad Library link. - Set the status to active and inactive to see ads a rival has already stopped. Ads that ran for months before stopping were usually profitable.
- Dynamic catalog ads show template text such as
{{product.name}}, because that is what Meta stores. - Each row has an
adUrlthat opens the ad in the Ad Library, and a creative link you can open to save the image. - Meta publishes spend and reach only for political and issue ads. See how to see competitors' Google and Meta ads for the full picture.
What it costs
$1.40 per 1,000 Meta ads, one price with no extra fees. 1,000 ads cost about $1.40.
Plus a small per-run start fee. Apify's free plan includes monthly credit, enough to test. Check the listing for current pricing.
FAQ
Can I download the Facebook Ad Library?
Meta has no export button. This actor reads the library and gives you every ad as CSV, Excel or JSON, with links to the creatives so you can save the images you want.
How do I search the Facebook Ad Library by advertiser?
Use the advertiser's Facebook Page ID, or paste an Ad Library link. A brand name also works but may include other pages that mention the brand.
Does it show Instagram ads too?
Yes. The Meta Ad Library covers Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and more, and each row lists the platforms the ad ran on.
Does it show how much a competitor spends?
Not for normal commercial ads, because Meta does not publish it. Political and issue ads include spend and reach ranges.
